Privacy Policy
What data we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected
Last updated: September 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information the website jameskulu.com.np (the "Site") collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Site is a personal portfolio maintained by James Kulu.
Using the Site means you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the contact form or other interactive features.
2. Information We Collect
The Site is a static website. It collects very little data about you.
2.1 Information you provide
- Contact form: When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, an optional subject, and your message. We use this only to reply to you.
- Direct correspondence: If you email us directly, we will have whatever information you choose to include in that email.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server data: Cloudflare (our hosting provider) processes technical data required to serve the Site, such as IP address and request metadata, to keep the Site secure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
- Local storage: The Site stores your theme preference (light or dark) in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device.
- We do not set advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to messages you send through the contact form;
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- To honour your local theme preference.
4. Third-Party Services
The Site relies on a small number of third-party services to function:
- Cloudflare (Pages, Workers, Email): Hosts the Site, processes contact-form submissions, and delivers those messages by email. Processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: Loads the Inter font. When you load the Site, your browser requests the font from Google, which may log that request.
- Boxicons (via unpkg): Loads the icon set used across the Site.
These providers may process data across borders. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Messages: Contact-form messages are emailed to a private inbox and are retained only as long as needed to respond. We recommend not including sensitive information in messages.
- Encryption: Data transferred between your browser and the Site is protected with HTTPS/TLS.
- We apply reasonable safeguards to protect any information we receive.
6. Cookies
The Site does not use cookies for tracking. The only persistent data stored in your browser is the dark/light theme preference in local storage, which you can clear at any time through your browser settings.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction: Ask us what information we hold about you and correct it.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete any messages you have sent.
- Local storage: You can clear stored theme preferences in your browser at any time.
- GDPR / CCPA rights: If you are in the EU/EEA/UK or California, you may have additional rights to access, port, or erase your data. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
